WHO WE ARE
Teach for Romania is a non-governmental organization, partner of the Teach for All global network, which seeks and trains valuable people, with or without previous teaching experience, to become kindergarten, primary or secondary school teachers in public education, for children in vulnerable communities.
In 2014, we began our Teach for Romania journey with 18 teacher leaders, serving some of the most vulnerable communities in Romania, guided by the question:
What would school life be like for students in vulnerable communities if their teachers were caring, motivated and prepared, if they believed in every child’s potential and if they could or knew how to make school interesting, enjoyable and relevant for all their students?
The program, originally developed in 1990 by Teach for America, in the United States, is now present in more than 60 countries, across 6 continents and supports 15,600 fellows and 83,000 alumni. One of the highest achievements is represented by the fact that more than 74% of program graduates continue to work in education.
Teach for All’s mission is to expand access to education around the world by increasing and accelerating the impact generated by organizations that cultivate the leadership needed for change.

VISION
EVERY CHILD HAS THE FUNDAMENTAL RIGHT TO QUALITY EDUCATION.
We believe that every child deserves and has the right to have an inspiring teacher, mentor, who will help them discover and fulfill their potential. Regardless of socio-economic status, the region they come from or the type of school they have access to, any child can have quality education.
MISSION
TRAINING OUTSTANDING TEACHERS TO TRANSFORM PUBLIC EDUCATION ACROSS THE COUNTRY.
Teach for Romania is a non-profit organization that recruits, trains and supports professionals as transformational teachers who take ownership of transforming society, through a leadership development program in education. Our aim is to have a long-term impact in reducing educational inequity and developing essential life skills among all students.
How? By supporting these transformational teachers to serve vulnerable communities where they are needed most.
